Position: Shipping Environmental Auditor for the verification of GHG emissions of ships, ports and shipping companies
Location: Paris, France, or Chandigarh, India (or remote)
Type of contract: Full or Part Time
 
Background

The company is headquartered in Paris, France and operates a regional office in Chandigarh, India. With over 250 shipping clients in 100 countries, Verifavia is the leading independent verification body for shipping emissions.
 
Verifavia is accredited by the French COFRAC to ISO 14065 for the shipping EU Monitoring Reporting and Verification (EU MRV), by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) for the UK Monitoring Reporting and Verification (UK MRV), and by various maritime administrations for IMO Data Collection System (Liberia, Panama, etc).
 
To strengthen its multicultural team of professional auditors, Verifavia is recruiting shipping environmental auditors for its Paris and Chandigarh offices. Successful candidates will join our international auditing teams to perform environmental verification audits for ships worldwide, to analyse ship’s performance data and to contribute to the improvement of the company’s quality management system.
 
Minimum skills

 
  • Relevant degree in Environment, Shipping, Engineering, Data Sciences, or Mathematics
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Attention to details, resourceful, ability to work independently
  • Strong business ethics and ability to maintain independence and objectivity
  • Ability to work under pressure in a challenging environment
 
Preferred skills

 
  • Auditing experience (quality, environment, operations, etc.)
  • Experience in ship operations or marine engineering
  • Knowledge of environmental / performance shipping regulations
  • Experience of working within requirements of a QMS or within requirements of a standard
  • IT proficiency
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools and / or programming languages (Python, R…)
  • Other languages
