Verifavia Expands to Greece

[...] The new division, Verifavia Shipping (Hellas) Ltd., will be based in Athens with a team led by Managing Director Nikolas Theodorou. It will primarily provide advisory and consultancy service in relation to EU Monitoring Reporting and Verification (MRV) regulations.

“Compliance with MRV regulation will prove a pressing issue for many shipowners and I am certain that we will assist them and facilitate this process in the most successful and professional manner,” Theodorou said.

The new MRV regulations apply to vessels of more than 5,000 gross tonnage and will come into force in 2018. Verifavia will work with clients in the region to prepare plans to monitor and report their carbon emissions, as well as working also with ICT solutions providers to develop new MRV solutions for auditing purposes.
