Verifavia Shipping hosted two free webinars on 16th November, to discuss the latest updates and provide an overview of the EU MRV Regulation. In both the webinars, Julien Dufour - CEO, Nicolas Duchene - Technical Director at Verifavia Shipping and Nikolas Theodorou – Managing Director, Verifavia Shipping (Hellas) spoke about various topics relating to the regulation.

Attendees learned about the latest updates on the European Union’s (EU) Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) regulation, including how to develop a monitoring plan, how to ensure MRV-readiness, and were offered an overall understanding of the compliance process.

Both webinars were preseneted in five key sections. The first focussed on the basics and overview of EU MRV Regulation, including the background of the regulation, as well as relevant regulatory updates sine the regualtioin came into force last year.

The second section then gave an overview of the difference and similarities between the IMO fuel oil data collection system and EU MRV System. While the third section focused on the contents of the monitoring plan, including providing practical advice and guidance on how to complete the monitoring plan template provided by the European Commission.

The penultimate section focussed on how to get ready and the most efficient way for ship owners and operators to get ready for compliance. The webinar was concluded with a brief descritpion of Verifavia Shipping and how our team of experts can assist with certification and verification.
