The Shipping MRV regulation was adopted by the ENVI Committee

On 3 December 2014, the new Shipping MRV regulation text was adopted at the Environmental Committee (ENVI) of the European Parliament with support of all Groups: 62 in favour, 0 against, 5 abstentions.

The Council is now expected to reach a political agreement at the Environment Council meeting on 17 December 2014, followed by the formal adoption of its common position, which should be transmitted to the Parliament.

The Parliament must then vote on the agreed text at one of its plenary meetings scheduled in spring 2015. If the text is voted at the Parliament, it would enter into force on 1 July 2015.
