By invitation from the European Commission, Julien Dufour, CEO of Verifavia, is an active member of the European Commission's EU MRV group of experts on verification and accreditation under the umbrella of the European Sustainable Shipping Forum (ESSF).

Julien Dufour is also the task leader on the task force responsible for drafting the guidance document addressed to verifiers on the verification of the emissions report. 

Julien Dufour is also a member of two other task forces responsible for drafting the guidance document for the preparation of the monitoring plan, and for the assessment of the monitoring plan.

As part of the ESSF work, together with several other stakeholders (industry associations, classification societies, shipping companies, regulatory authorities, consultants, verifiers, NGOs, etc.), Verifavia gave its opinion on issues related to verification and accreditation. which were feed into the preparatory work for the drafting of the Delegated and Implementing Acts on monitoring, reporting, verification and accreditation of verifiers.
