Verifavia Shipping is hosting a free-to-attend seminar during this year’s Posidonia, which will address shipping companies on the EU Monitoring, Reporting & Verification (MRV), the IMO Data Collection System (DCS), and the Clean Shipping Index (CSI) requirements. The event will take place in seminar room 2A on Thursday June 7th 2018 from 17:00 to 19:00 hrs.
Through interactive presentations, shipping experts from Verifavia will aim to provide participants with an overview, a complete regulatory update, and operational guidance on these environmental regulations and programmes. |

MEPC72 calls for a submission of DCPs by 1st September 2018!

The IMO Data Collection System (IMO DCS) that came into force on 1st March 2018 was briefly reviewed during the Marine Environment Protection Committee’s (MEPC) recent 72nd session, which took place on 9-13 April 2018 in London.
Most notably, the committee approved a sample format for the Confirmation of Compliance that certifies that the ship has a Data Collection Plan (DCP) in place within the SEEMP Part II, which complies with the IMO requirements.
In addition, it was agreed to encourage shipping companies to submit their DCP (SEEMP Part II) to their respective Flag Administration or duly authorised organisation by 1st September 2018, to ensure timely verification. |
